We recommend that every six months your Ostendo database should be given a service.
All users will need to be logged out of Ostendo and a backup should be taken immediately prior to running these processes.
- Run the Validation, Backup and Restore processes using the Firebird gbak Database Utilities that come with Ostendo. This reindexes the database and repairs any issues.
- Optimise the database using the Optimise Database function under File>System Configuration.
The Validation, Backup and Restore processes using the Firebird gbak Database Utilities should be done by someone who is properly qualified and experienced.
